Pressure sensors are pressure transmitters that convert mechanical pressure into standardised electrical output. NATEC uses three different measurement principles: We’d be delighted to advise you to ensure you find the right method.
Absolute pressure measurement determines the pressure difference to the ideal or the absolute vacuum (empty space). The measured value refers accordingly to the vacuum. Absolute pressure measurements are therefore mostly used in closed systems without consideration of air pressure.
In a relative pressure measurement, the pressure difference is always measured at the currently prevailing ambient pressure. The pressure transmitters denote positive pressure or negative pressure created, for example, in the heating of a steam boiler. Since the relative pressure measurement takes the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere into account, the results vary depending on the weather or altitude.
The principle of the differential pressure measurement is based on the measurement of the difference between two different pressure levels (Δp = p1 - p2). Differential pressure transmitters therefore always use two ports.
